Discover our fascinating collections and 400 million years of Somerset history with our brand new app using Bloomberg Connects. Use the app to plan your visit, access bonus content and explore key objects and exhibitions in a variety of languages.

Accessing the App
Download the app on your mobile or tablet.
Once downloaded, search for ‘The Museum of Somerset’. Alternatively you can explore the Museum of Somerset guide on the Bloomberg Connects site via a mobile browser.
During your visit to the museum, you can use our free wifi to download the app. You can scan the Bloomberg Connects QR codes that you see around the museum, or you can search for ‘Bloomberg Connects’ on your mobile’s app store.
The app is available in many languages (including Arabic, Welsh, German, Greek, Ukrainian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, Korean, Chinese, and Dutch) thanks to integration with Google Translate, and has options to explore the collections via audio description.

The app includes a map of the museum, an overview of each gallery allowing you to follow the story of Somerset from prehistoric times to the present day.
In-app prompts and highlights mean you won’t miss our must-see treasures which include: a nearly 200 million year old Icthyosaur fossil, the Low Ham Roman Villa Mosaic (350 AD) – the oldest object in Britain to tell a complete story. The early medieval Cheddar Brooch, the Duke of Monmouth’s buckle and button, reputedly given to a child during his escape in 1685, the world’s heaviest flying bird – The Great Bustard and more.
