This heritage site includes the historic lead mining area at Charterhouse. It is managed in partnership with the Mendip Hills National Landscape Service and is a Scheduled Monument.
The remains of stone-built lead flues can be seen amongst the overgrown evidence of open-cast mining.
The site adjoins nature reserves owned by Somerset Wildlife Trust.
