There is plenty on offer for children and families at the Museum, ensuring each visit is a fun and enjoyable day out full of adventure and exploration.

Become a Rural Ranger

Borrow a mini backpack, filled with activities to help children explore the site. Collect a backpack from reception and take your cuddly farm animal on an adventure. Complete the backpack trail to become a Museum Rural Ranger! Pick up a backpack for FREE. Best suited for age 6 and under.

Museum Trails

For older children there are other exciting trails available. As the seasons and the Museum exhibitions change there is always something new to discover about life at Abbey Farm and the Museum collections.  Trails are FREE on your first visit and £1 there after.

Outside Spaces

Once outside the Museum orchard is waiting to be discovered and has further activities for all the family. Learn the names of the apple trees, peek inside our shepherd’s hut and even explore inside the chicken coop! There’s even a [plastic!] cow to milk!
