There is a free public car park at the front of the building with space for around 30 cars.

There are two buildings on the site. The public archive searchroom is situated in Building One, and there is a separate research room in Building Two for looking at Museum objects. If you would like to see Museum objects please contact museums@swheritage.org.uk to make arrangements before you visit.

There are three disabled parking spaces for Building One and two for Building Two and level access from the car park to the public areas of the Heritage Centre. Both buildings have disabled toilets. There is a height-adjustable desk in the searchroom, and a hearing loop in Building One reception, the searchroom and the Learning Room. A lift is available both in Building One and Building Two.

When you arrive please sign in at reception in Building One. Lockers are available to store bags, coats etc.

There is a refreshment area available at the Somerset Heritage Centre. A small selection of snacks and hot drinks are available to purchase at reception and usually a sandwich van visits at lunchtime. You are welcome to bring your own packed lunch to have in the refreshment area.
