Collections into Communities

This area of work is focused on understanding how our museum collections and stories relate to the local area. We work with participants out in the community to co-curate exhibitions and other creative outputs through engaging sessions related to these collections.

Over the last three years, we have worked with local groups all across Somerset. We facilitated many successful events associated with these projects and gained insight into how best to approach this kind of work over the course of our time as a National Portfolio Organisation.

Further to this, we have attended many cultural and community events, ensuring that we are building and maintaining relationships with partners and audiences across the county. Through this we continue to garner new ideas, support, and an understanding of the direction we want to take our projects in.
