The South West Heritage Trust is pleased to host Finds Liaison Officers working for the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS), covering the areas of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset (based at Dorset History Centre) and Somerset.

If you find an object in your garden (or elsewhere) that you believe may be of archaeological interest, you can contact your local Finds Liaison Officer for advice and to have the find recorded. The PAS also have guidance that provides advice for finders, including metal detectorists, available on the PAS website.

Please be aware that any material that constitutes Treasure (or which you believe may be Treasure) belongs to the Crown by law and must be recorded. More information is available in the PAS advice for finders of archaeological objects and treasure.
