We are continuing to showcase our work as a National Portfolio Organisation through attending several community events across the county.
We attended a Somerset Day celebration at Burrow Hill Cider Farm in May 2025. Organised by the Kingsbury Time Travellers, this event celebrated the blossoms and apples of the trees that help to produce cider, a much-loved Somerset tradition. We brought along some cider-related objects from our museum collections, as well as our popular screen-printing activity.
We were invited back to Glastonbury Festival this year, where we encouraged participants to think deeply about portrait photography and what these images represent. Our marquee was decorated with portraits (paintings and photographs) from our museum collections, which provided an excellent backdrop to our solar-powered self-portrait studio! Participants were invited to take their own self-portrait, which would then be printed and displayed for the duration of the festival.
