Spring Awakening
Early lockdown coincided with the first days of spring and the arrival of unseasonably warm weather which continued over the weeks that followed.

Time felt as if at a standstill for many Somerset residents. But the natural world continued to grow and flourish with the changing seasons, as shown by this magnolia tree and the abundant wisteria and cherry blossom pictured nearby.

Each year the spring tulips draw crowds to the Bishop’s Palace. But in 2020 the only way to see them was through photographs, including this one which was featured on the front page of a local newspaper.
