Discovery Saturday

Plant Swap

 Coming up:  11th July 2026

Somerset Heritage Centre

Pop in for a relaxed table‑top plant swap and take home something new for your windowsill or garden. Bring a plant to exchange, or give a small contribution to support the South West Heritage Trust. While you’re here, enjoy our small, curated exhibition celebrating the history of gardening.

 Coming up:  11th July 2026

Pop Up Display

Drop in to see our pop-up display of garden archives: ‘How Did Your Garden Grow?’ The display celebrates the history of gardening in Somerset and beyond, featuring a selection of documents from the archive collections, including Hestercombe planting plans drawn by Gertrude Jekyll.

Plant Swap

To complement the display we’re running a friendly, table-top plant swap, perfect for anyone who enjoys growing, sharing, and chatting about plants.

Bring along any plants you would like to swap or select from those donated by others. If you don’t have a plant to swap you can pay a ‘what-you-think’ donation towards the work of the South West Heritage Trust.

Free, drop-in.

Part of Discovery Saturday

This event is part of Discovery Saturdays, where visitors can also book a Searchroom session on the same day if they’d like to explore the collections further.
