The grounds of Kilver Court continued to be maintained by Chris Inchley during lockdown. With no crowds around him, Chris enjoyed listening to heavy metal music through his headphones while he was working.

Wild swimming enjoyed a resurgence during lockdown because of the hot weather and the need to find other kinds of exercise when gyms and swimming pools closed. Picturesque spots such as this one became very busy, causing some anxiety for local residents.

During lockdown Liam created a video documenting a ‘small painting tour on a bicycle’. He cycled around his home village of Pylle and the surrounding countryside, stopping to paint postcard views of the interesting sites he encountered on the way.

Hundreds gathered on Glastonbury Tor to celebrate the arrival of the summer solstice on Saturday 20 June. The National Trust and the local council had requested that people stay away because of the ban on mass gatherings.

Wells Rugby player Thomas Palacio and Jake Smith ran a marathon around mid-Somerset in memory of James ‘Pud’ Pullen and Karen Fry. They raised over £2,000 for the Brain Research UK charity.
