Find out what’s coming up this autumn and winter at the Museum of Somerset in Taunton and Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury.

Horse Power: The story of horses in rural Somerset
For centuries horses played a central role in the everyday lives of Somerset people. This exhibition will feature a rich display of paintings, photographs, museum objects and oral histories to tell the story of how horses helped shape the rural landscape of the county.

As part of the exhibition artist and metalworker Jacky Oliver has been co-commissioned with Somerset Art Works to create an installation inspired by the history of the horse in agriculture. The large scale kinetic contemporary artwork will be displayed in the historic Abbey Barn throughout September and October. Read more.
