Discover the art of monoprinting, where each print is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation. Create your own unique monoprint in this fun, creative workshop led by print-maker Jackie Curtis.

Monoprints are one-off unique prints. You do not create a permanent block, so there is no carving or gluing things down, meaning monoprints are flexible, easy and quick to produce. In this workshop we will be using a small-portable printing press to produce several prints using all sorts of materials such as net, lace, leaves, fabrics and bubble wrap. There will be plenty of materials supplied but you might like to bring some things of your own along – items with interesting textures print really well.

Workshop Highlights:

• Hands-On Experience: Use water-based inks and a small, portable printing press to create several unique prints.
• Diverse Materials: Experiment with net, lace, leaves, fabrics, bubble wrap, and more.
• Personal Touch: Feel free to bring your own textured items like leaves, feathers, or interesting fabrics. Just ensure they are dry, not too thick, and okay to get inked.
• Fabric Printing: You can also print onto fabric such as calico. Bring pieces slightly larger than A5 and ironed flat.

Need to Know

• This workshop is for adults. All abilities are welcome and it’s suitable for beginners
• Please bring an apron or wear old clothes. You may also like to bring some gloves to wear
• A pair of scissors, sketch pad and pencil would also be useful

Lunch

The Grain Store Cafe will be open, serving delicious locally-sourced food and drink, should you wish to have lunch at the museum after your monoprints have been created.

Join Jackie again in the afternoon for a foil printing workshop, 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm, and expand your printing skill set.
