Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and without them we could not survive.
Our museums are very popular, as inspirational and vibrant places that draw thousands of visitors.
For those interested in research and historic documents, our searchrooms in the Devon and Somerset Heritage Centres are supported by vast quantities of materials – documents, maps and photographs.
Events and public activities are a great way to get involved and meet new people.
There are regular archaeological digs and training that rely on people.
Current Opportunities
Museum of Somerset
Welcome Volunteer
We are looking for people with a passion for Somerset and a fascination for its history, as well as a natural ability to provide the very best face-to-face customer care at the Museum of Somerset.
Duties will include: welcoming visitors, stewarding specific areas of the Museum, leading guided tours, answering queries and helping to keep the Museum looking its best, at all times.
If you think you have what it takes to help us deliver an unrivalled visitor experience and can commit to a minimum of two half-days per month, then we’d really like to talk to you.
For an informal chat contact the Duty Manager on 01823 255088.
