Coming up: 11th December 2026
Come together for a festive evening of Christmas magic, carolling and mulled cider within the atmospheric setting of the 14th century Abbey Barn. See Abbey Farm dressed for Christmas, enjoy the family-friendly elf trail, toast marshmallows over the fire and join in with traditional carols around the beautiful tree.
Friends from Castle Cary and Glastonbury Methodists will be leading the singing. This will be a joyful opportunity for everyone to raise their voices and sing together ‘lustily and with good courage!’
Don’t worry about remembering all the words, we’ll provide song sheets, but bring a torch to make reading easier!
Timings
- Carol singing: approximately 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm, with a short break for cider!
- Marshmallow toasting: 5.00 pm – 7.00 pm
Refreshments
Mulled cider and hot mulled apple juice will be available to purchase for £3 per glass.
If possible, please bring cash, as mobile signal and card payments can be unreliable.
❄️ Gather family and friends, wrap up warm, and celebrate the season with an evening of festive cheer.
Did You Know?
The first formal carol service was held in 1880 in Truro, believed to be a way of keeping people out of the pub!
