Taxis are also available at the Railway Station. For more information, please see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstgroup.com\/somerset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buses of Somerset website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Somerset Heritage Centre is around a 2 mile \/ 45\u00a0minute walk from Taunton Railway Station. \u00a0Leave the station via the exit on Platform 2 and follow the \u2018Station Approach\u2019 past the multi-story carpark to join Trenchard Way (the Firepool Digital Innovation Centre will be on the opposite side of the road), cross over the road and turn right and follow Trenchard Way. You will walk along side the Post Office sorting office van carpark and then the footpath bears to the left (do not go up the stairs to the pedestrian bridge) taking you between Aldi and the Post Office onto Chip Lane. Turn right on Chip Lane with Aldi on your right and when you reach the roundabout cross over taking the road which would be the third exit if driving, coming onto Staplegrove Road, the road leads over a decorated railway bridge and past Taunton School on your right. Just past Taunton School, turn left on to Bindon Road. Follow Bindon Road for its full length. At the end of the road turn right and then use the pedestrian crossing to cross to the other side of Silk Mills Lane, after crossing the road turn right but then immediately bear left onto Great Western Way. Berry\u2019s Coaches will be on your left. At the roundabout turn left and the Somerset Heritage Centre should soon come into view.<\/p>\n<h2>By Bus<\/h2>\n<p>Taunton Bus Station is on Castle Way, next to Castle Green and the Museum of Somerset. \u00a0Please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstbus.co.uk\/somerset\">Buses of Somerset<\/a> website\u00a0for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The closest bus stop to the Somerset Heritage Centre is on Great Western Way, and the number 25 bus stops here. The Somerset Heritage Centre is a five-minute walk from the bus stop, walk towards the roundabout on Great Western Way, take the first exit and the Somerset Heritage Centre will soon come into view.<\/p>\n<p>The number 25 bus also stops on Collett Road which also leads towards the roundabout on Great Western Way.<\/p>\n<p>The number 28 and 28a buses stop near the Cross Keys pub on the corner of the Minehead road (A358). If you are travelling towards Bishops Lydeard and Williton the bus will stop opposite the BP\/MS garage, keeping the garage on your left cross over the roundabout towards the housing estate. Turn left to walk 10-15 meters to find the footpath on the right which runs alongside the houses. If you are travelling on the 28 service towards Taunton the bus will stop just past the Cross Keys pub. Cross over the road with the pub behind you, after crossing the road turn right and find the footpath which runs alongside the house. In both instances follow the footpath and when it joins Great Western Way\u00a0 cross over the road and then turn right, at the roundabout take the first exit and the Somerset Heritage Centre will soon come into view.<\/p>\n<h2>By Car<\/h2>\n<p>The Somerset Heritage Centre has a large, free car park at the front of the main building, including three disabled parking spaces. \u00a0The postcode is TA2 6SF. \u00a0If this is not recognised by your SatNav, please try TA2 6AB which will lead to the junction at the edge of the Langford Mead estate.<\/p>\n<p>The Somerset Heritage Centre is signposted on all major approach roads with white signs, rather than the brown tourist attraction signs.<\/p>\n<p>From Junction 25 follow signs for the A358. \u00a0This will take you through a roundabout (keep left) and along the Toneway, a dual carriage way. \u00a0At the roundabout take the second \u00a0exit with Wicks and Dunelm on your right. \u00a0At the roundabout take the fourth exit keeping Dunelm on your right. Follow Trenchard Way past the Firepool Digital Innovation Centre. At the roundabout (with Aldi on your left) take the fourth exit, over the decorated railway bridge with Taunton School on your right. Just past Taunton School turn left onto Bindon Road. Follow Bindon Road and at the end of the road turn right and then immediatly left on to Great Western Way. Continue to the roundabout and turn left. \u00a0The Somerset Heritage Centre will soon be visible, turn left onto Brunel Way and then first right into our car park.<\/p>\n<p>From Junction 26, as you leave the motorway follow signs for the A38. \u00a0At the roundabout take the fourth exit towards Taunton. \u00a0Stay on this road until you reach Taunton, passing Rumwell Farm Shop and Stonegallows on the left and the crematorium on the right. \u00a0At the roundabout just past the crematorium, take the first exit onto Silk Mills Road (A3065). \u00a0Follow this road over a railway bridge, at the traffic lights as you come off the bridge stay in the left-hand land and then bear left at the next set of traffic lights onto Great Western Way. \u00a0Continue to the roundabout and turn left. \u00a0The Somerset Heritage Centre will soon be visible, turn left onto Brunel Way and then first right into our car park.<\/p>\n<p>Taunton has two Park and Ride services at Somerset Gateway near Junction 25, and Silk Mills nearer Junction 26. \u00a0Please see the\u00a0Buses of Somerset\u00a0website for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Address Is: Somerset Heritage Centre, Brunel Way, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, TA2 6SF By Train By Train There are regular trains along the Penzance\/Plymouth to Glasgow\/Dundee main line. \u00a0These usually travel through Bristol if coming from a northerly direction, and Exeter if coming from the south stopping at Taunton Railway Station.
