Our three pilot sessions are intended to nourish those things needed for a happy life to help people live well with dementia in a creative not a clinical space.

These activity-rich sessions will stimulate all the senses. They will also encourage non-verbal communication through mark making and movement.

Each session will begin with tea and biscuits.

Session one: The comfort of things

We will be telling, and listening to, stories from Somerset’s past. Includes real social history objects and documents, along with sound and smell resources, to aid reminiscence.

Session two: I made this

We will be making flags and bunting using fabric printing to create a ‘museum’ design. Through the aid of music and images we will look at how flags have been used, from celebrations and sporting events to protest.

Session three: Making a difference

We will be creating a Christmas card design from a range of different materials. This will be reproduced and given to participants to send, and a number will be on sale at the Museum shop over the Christmas period.
