18 March – Site Closures

At this very concerning time the health and wellbeing of visitors, staff and volunteers is of paramount importance to the South West Heritage Trust.

For that reason the Trust has decided to close all its sites to the public from 5.00 pm on Wednesday 18 March. These sites are:

The Museum of Somerset, Taunton

Somerset Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury

Somerset Brick and Tile Museum, Bridgwater

Somerset Heritage Centre, Taunton

Devon Heritage Centre, Exeter

North Devon Record Office, Barnstaple

If you have booked and paid in advance for an event, please contact the venue via email and we would be happy to provide a refund.

We don’t yet know when we’ll reopen, but look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we can.

In the meantime, thank you very much for your support and understanding. Best wishes from us all and keep safe.

19 March – Archive Research Enquries

Q. Will you be able to answer my Research Service request/my initial enquiry?

A. We will endeavour to answer enquiries as usual during this time, although our response may take longer. However, there may be some enquiries that we are unable to answer due to staff shortages or staff working from home. We will contact you directly if this is the case.  You will be able to resubmit your enquiry when our full service resumes, and we will endeavour to answer it as soon as possible.

20 March – Events in April and May

We have taken the decision to postpone or cancel all planned events up to the end of May and to review later events in due course.
